best heart surgeon in mumbai
my personal opinion is
there are two - Dr S Bhattacharya and Dr Ramakant Panda
Dr S Bhattacharya - is the head of cardiac surgery at Bombay Hospital. He is attatched to almost all major hospitals of mumbai
Dr Ramakant Panda is the head of cardiac surgery at Asian Heart Institute, bandra, mumbai
Both are experts in heart bypass surgery ( CABG - coronary artery bypass surgery)
- they both are experts in Off pump ( beating heart) bypass surgery.
In this technique the heart-lung machine is not used and the heart is not stopped.
- They both are experts in Total arterial revascularisation
They use arterial grafts ( arteries) to bypass the heart vessels. Some surgeons still use veins from the legs to bypass the heart vessels. Results have shown that arterial grafts have better results than veins.
- Both of them are very experienced surgeons.
heart surgery in india
Let me introduce myself.
I am a heart surgeon from mumbai,India. There are two common problems we Indians face as patients-
- we do not know whether the doctor or hospital where we are going to be treated is good or not.
- we do not know whether we are recieving the best treatment that we need to.
Purpose of starting this blog
- To enable the heart surgery patients in India to share their experiences which will benefit other patients.
-To guide the heart surgery patients in making an informed decision regarding the nature of heart surgery, the risks involved, reviews of the hospital and the operating heart surgeon.
I encourage people to ask any doubts they have regarding heart surgery.
I also urge people to review the hospitals and the heart surgeons where they have been operated. This will help in making informed and well guided decisions.
